The MagellanTM 9554 is a multi-plane imaging bar code scanner with an optional integrated scale, designed to deliver best in class performance for assisted service checkout Lanes or Self-checkout lanes within Retail stores requiring high throughput and emphasizing ease of use. In addition, this new Magellan includes an optional in-bonnet color camera which enables basic AI workflows like Produce Recognition to improve the customer experience and help reduce shrink. 

Key Specifications & Performance

  • Scanning Capability: Incorporates a 100% digital 2D area imager. It reads standard 1D, 2D (QR Codes, Data Matrix), and GS1 Digital Link codes up to 45% faster than previous generations.
  • Integrated Checkout Scale: The 9554 configuration includes an integrated, factory-certified scale. It is available in single-interval or dual-interval configurations with a weight capacity up to 15 kg / 30 lbs.
  • All-Weighs Platter: Features a specialised platter design with a flip-up or fixed produce rail. This design provides an extended top-surface weighing area, preventing inaccurate metrics when large, oversized items overhang the scale surface.
  • Interface & Power: Multi-interface system supporting USB (COM, OEM, Keyboard) and RS-232 connections via single or dual-cable setups. It runs on a highly efficient 12 VDC architecture, drawing a nominal 2.6 Watts while operating
